Native Chiki Hut craftsmanship is a beautiful thing, each structure is truly a unique work of art. Unfortunately, working with natural materials has drawbacks. All natural thatch structures shed fibers and begin to decompose immediately. With an estimated life of three to five years, natural thatch needs constant maintenance and before you know it, the entire structure needs to be re-thatched.
Our Dura-Thatch product has the look and feel of natural thatch while the synthetic polymers from which it is manufactured make it almost indestructible. Our synthetic thatch is warranted for 20 years against fading, loss of texture and waterproofing. The material can be nailed or screwed to wooden frames, such as a native hut. It can also be applied over wood sheathing, corrugated metal, finished siding or asphalt shingles.
Bora Bora Style
Bora Bora is used when your application requires the underside of the roof to be visible and is commonly used as a replacement for natural thatch in native Chiki Huts. Currently Bora Bora is sold by the bundle. Each bundle covers approximately 86 Square Feet.

Domingo Style
Domingo is used as a shingle for application to wood sheathing, over existing shingles, metal or any surface where the underside of the roof is not exposed. Currently Domingo is sold by the bundle. Each bundle covers approximately 96 Square Feet.
